My Journey into Law

Every lawyer has a path. I grew up believing that discipline, hard work, and integrity could shape any destiny.

After earning six A+ grades and studying Pure Sciences at the Queen Elizabeth College, I began an accounting journey, passing the first four ACCA papers.

My life's Turning Point

Yes, my life has a turning point. Somehow, we both relate, in pain, and yet, we breathe everyday, looking for light in every passing moment.

Everything changed on 12 March 2014. My father passed away suddenly- a heart attack- and minutes later- he was gone, forever.

That day marked me forever. It was the moment I understood how fragile family bonds can be, how quickly everything that feels safe can break apart.

My life purpose into Law- A battle in preparation

That loss gave me purpose.

That moment rewrote my story. It taught me that life can collapse in a heartbeat—and that recovery begins with structure, courage, and guidance.

It taught me that behind every argument, every silence, and every court case, there are people trying to hold on — or to let go — with dignity.

So I chose Law. And I chose Family Law, not because it is easy, but because it demands both strength and empathy.

Law became my way of helping others rebuild. I completed my LL.B (Hons) at the University of Mauritius, where I served as Class Representative for three years and joined the Law Society, before pursuing a Post-Graduate Diploma in Law (University of Central Lancashire) and the Bar Professional Training Course (University of the West of England, Bristol – Very Competent).

Why Family Law in Mauritius?

Family Law is where law meets humanity.

Every separation carries the weight of what once was, but also the promise of what could be.

In my daily practice before the Family Division of the Supreme Court of Mauritius, I see people at their most fragile—searching for balance, dignity, and the courage to begin again.

My role as a Family Lawyer in Mauritius

My role is to help transform confusion into clarity, conflict into order. Through careful listening, calm reasoning, and firm advocacy, I aim to restore peace where it feels lost.

Each case is a reminder that endings can also be beginnings—that freedom, healing, and stability are within reach.

She holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours, an LL.B (Honours) from the University of Mauritius, 2018.

Me. Jesha Boodram was called to the bar in Mauritius in 2022.

Me. Jesha was called to the Bar of England and Wales in March 2021.

Me. Jesha has been a member of the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple, United Kingdom since 2019.

Me. Jesha did her Bar Professional Training Course at the University of West of England, in Bristol, United Kingdom and graduated in 2021 with the grade of Very Competent.

Me. Jesha predominantly practices family law: as a divorce lawyer, lawyer for child custody, variation order, alimony, taking the child outside the jurisdiction lawyer;

Me. Jesha also practices as a criminal lawyer, civil / contractual lawyer, bail lawyer, assist police enquiries lawyer, disciplinary committees as a company lawyer, provides legal advice, and corporate lawyer/ companies’ lawyer.
